I really need to get back in the habit of reading my assorted friends-lists on the weekends. I keep not hearing about big stuff until after it's over and done with.

Basically whenever I run out of stuff to read here on LJ I try to post something. It's not always anything deep or earth-shattering, but it's something.

Tom accidentally got this great picture of Riker when he paused his DVD. We decided it had to be an icon. So, I made one.

One of the reasons I haven't been posting much on LJ recently is that I haven't been able to think of stuff that feels worth writing about.

What I'd like you guys to do is come up with things for me to make regular posts about. I've come up with a few already, but I'd like more.

I'm going to try posting:
A picture every time I finish a project.
A short review every time I finish a book.
A picture every time I get my nails done.

And if you want ideas for topics I'm always happy to issue a challenge. :)

At the moment I'm on 4 general purpose networks - Twitter, Facebook, LJ, and Google+. I also participate in a few special interest networks and some forums, but we're not talking about them today.

So this is how I use them:
- Twitter: I read it occasionally, but almost never remember to post anything there. I might actually delete the account sometime soon.

- Facebook: Quick updates about what I'm up to, and links to interesting things I've found online. Mostly things that I think will interest my family and not so geeky friends and acquaintances.

- Google Plus: More or less the same type of thing as Facebook, but with a more geeky slant.

- LJ: Anything that I can't say all I want to on the topic in a sentence or two. I cross-post it to Facebook and/or Google+ as seems appropriate.

If anybody wants a Google+ invite, let me know. (I'll delete this sentence when mine are all gone.)

An Idea

Following up on some of the comments I've gotten in my last two posts, I've had an idea for a new community here on LJ.

Would any of you be interested in a community for discussing fashion and appearence from the point of view of grownups who are trying to stand out from the crowd. A community for grownups who are still figuring out what the rules are, and which ones they want to follow and which ones they want to ignore.

I have (temporarily?) turned off the ability to leave anonymous comments on my LJ. I was getting too many spam messages.

If you don't have an LJ and want to say something about one of my posts you can sign it using your Facebook or Twitter account.

So with the new color scheme of my journal, my old default icon (flying owl w/full moon) no longer matches.

Help me pick a new one! I'm leaning towards Beginning Of Knowledge, Who Can Tell What A Day Might Bring, Card Catalog, or maybe Me 001.

I'm going to be fiddling with the look of my LJ today, so don't be surprised if it looks completely different next time you wander by.

Body: Still unhappy with my left foot/ankle/calf; but wearing sturdier shoes does seem to be helping.

Stress Level: 3

Etsy Find: Custom Made WW2 style Women's trench coat. A little pricey, but not unreasonably so for a good coat.

Project Follow-up: I finished moving all of my craft stuff from the old plastic shelves to a wooden bookshelf. I have before and after pictures, which I may get off the camera and post tonight.

Tonight's Project: I need to pick up the custom cover for our new futon, and run a few other errands. After that I'm going to collapse.

Randomness: For people reading this via Facebook: Did you know that you can log in to LiveJournal using your Facebook account? The option should show up automatically when you comment on an entry. I'd appreciate it if you took advantage of it, because that way I know who I'm talking to.
