For a smart person, sometimes I can be awful dumb...
I've been tearing my hair out all weekend, trying to figure out how I was going to talk work into letting me take Friday at least partly off.
It turns out, I already had the day off.
When I requested my vacation time next week, I had included this Friday as a way to give myself extra time to pack and get organized. It completely slipped my mind. If the reunion hadn't come up I probably would have shown up at work Friday morning like normal, to amusement of my supervisors.
