Home from Michigan
We are home!
The funeral was, well, a funeral. It was weird saying good-bye to the last of my great-uncles (and aunts) that I actually knew. I have a few left (I think), but I don't really know any of them.
My family freaked Tom out a little bit by telling him how a couple branches of my ancestors have been living in this same town of Lake Odessa, Michigan since just after the Civil War.
We spent most of Saturday hanging out with Gramma Robinson, and then went into EL for dinner with Dad, Nancy, and Jon at El Azteco. After that we went out to Bob's dojo and watched the last little bit of his martial arts class. Then we headed over to Jon's house to grab Bob's stuff, and ended up hangout there for a while. Bob went back to Grand Ledge with us, and we spent the night at Gramma Robinson's.
We all got up fairly early this morning, but we didn't end up hitting the road much earlier than we would have otherwise.
We had a few adventures on the drive, but nothing particularly dramatic. We left the highway a couple of times trying to find a place that would sell us a replacement wire to hook Tom's iPhone up to the car radio, and when we stopped in Canada for dinner we managed to find a restaurant that had good food but awful service.
Anyway, we're home safe and sound. It's a little late for calling people now, but I will make a few calls in the morning.
