Baking

I think I feel like baking cookies some time this week. Anyone want to weigh in on what type I should make?

Oatmeal raisin

Peanut butter (possibly with chocolate chips, but I prefer them plain, from my mother's recipe)

Snickerdoodles (recipe in Betty Crocker Cookie Book, 1960s vintage)

Soft sugar (drop) cookies (from my mother's recipe)

Chocolate chip (recipe on chip package)

Shortbread of some sort (my current favorite has chopped candied ginger and lime zest)

Soft molasses ginger cookies (from my Aunt Ruth's recipe)

Family recipes provided on request *grin*

During the holiday season, it's butter cookies (spritz), meringue cookies, baklava, and brandy balls)

And now I want some peanut butter cookies and a glass of milk - not enough to mess up the just-cleaned-an-hour-ago kitchen, though. *wry*

Snickerdoodles! I even have the cookbook you're talking about (I think.)

THis one? *grin* (Mine's old enough that the pages are mostly falling off the binding...)

Yup, that's the one. :) Best cookie cookbook ever.

There are so many delicious types of cookies out there! What style are you looking for? Refrigerator cookies? Cut out cookies? Simple drop cookies? Bar cookies? If you want suggestions around a certain type, let me know.

This is the problem: too many yummy things for me to pick just one or two!

I think I'm going to go with snickerdoodles.

Are you sending them out to us? That makes a difference. :)

Probably not. Sorry. :)

I'm making chocolate chip and butterscotch chip tonight!

Those sound good.

i vote for peanut butter cookies.. and if you put chips in them i wouldnt put chocolate i'd try butterscotch (havent done it before but i'd think it'd be good) but i'd really mostly vote for plain ... second option? No Bake cookies.. MMMMMMMMM you know the kind with the chocolate and peanut butter and oatmeal? ... if you cant have peanuts though (so many people cant these days ... so sad) I'd say sugar cookies with a bit of jam in an indent in the top of the middle.

It's fall. Time for snickerdoodles.

That's what I decided on. Probably tomorrow's project.

Oh yum. (The owner of the local bead store always brings cookies; her oatmeal-raisin ones are to die for, but I think she uses that same snickerdoodles recipe. Omnomnomnom. I may have to make a batch...)

Chocolate chips are a classic. Peanut butter are yummy. Mix 'em for something divine!OR, better yet, chocolate with peanut butter chip!

I did chocolate with PB chips a while back, and they turned out really well. Maybe I'll make them in the next round.

I vote for that. :)

Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.

Coconut chocolate chip!

I'm not a big fan of coconut, but they might work for sometime I need to make cookies for somebody else.
