My brain =/= other people's brains

Sometimes I get the impression that I'm the only person who draws a distinction between commenting about something, and complaining about it.

No you're not. Simply because they are not positive, does not make a comment a complaint.

Then I think I need to learn how to phrase things better, because people are constantly hearing complaints where I only intend statements. It gets frustrating.

Does this happen more online or in person? I find online commenting comes across as far more negative than the same thing said verbally would.

It actually happens more in person, which makes me think it's something I'm doing wrong with my tone of voice.

People just need to be less sensitive.
