Revised, simplified plan

See about getting Friday at least partly off.

Get the brakes fixed on my car. EDIT: I just got off the phone with the dealer, and not only do my front brakes need replacing, but my rotors as well. Twice the cost I was planning on. I can get the original, and Tom said he'll get the difference.

Drive myself out.

Drive myself to Pennsic.

This plan is much less dependent on other people's schedules, and shouldn't cost any more. Thanks Tom, for the suggestion.

Yeah. The two main reasons I was looking at flying were 1) My brakes are currently iffy, and I didn't know how much they would cost to fix; 2) I thought that flying would get me there in a more timely fasion. That would be true if I could get a direct flight to Lansing from anywhere close to Albany, but since that doesn't seem to be an option flying becomes much less practical.
