Book meme!

I grabbed this one from [livejournal.com profile] nounsandverbs

1. One book that changed your life: I don't know that I can point to any specific book and say that it changed my life. The underlying concept in Spider Robinson's Callahan books has been fairly influential, as have some of Robert Heinlein's ideas.

2. One book you have read more than once: Just one? I re-read more than I read. The one that I've re-read most is probably Little Women. I've lost count of how many times I've read it.

3. One book you would want on a desert island: A blank notebook. Maybe I'd finally get off my rear and write if I didn't have the temptation of something to read.

4. One book that made you laugh: Sharyn McCrumb's Bimbos of the Death Sun. It's a great spoof of science fiction fandom.

5. One book that made you cry: Little Women I always get weepy when Beth dies.

6. One book you wish had been written: I wish that Mercedes Lackey would write about the founding of Valdemar. Cheesy, I know. But... I still want to read that story.

7. One book you wish had never been written: I can't think of any.

8. One book you are currently reading: The Book of Lost Tales 2 by J.R.R. Tolkien

9. One book you have been meaning to read: I can't think of any books that I want to read but haven't.

Of the various Valdemar trilogies, do you have a favorite?

Probably the Talia group. I also love the Tarma & Kethry books, although they're only set in that world as an afterthought.
