Knee doctor visit

My appointment with the knee doctor went fairly well. They tied my legs in knots in order to take some X-rays, which hurt a little bit, but after the doctor looked at them he had good news for me.

It turns out that the reason my knees hurt is connected to the way my hips & pelvis developed during adolescence. There's a term for it, but I don't remember it and the paperwork is out in my car. He thinks that physical therapy will help me, and that surgery won't be needed.

Edit 6:22 pm OK. It's called patellofemoral syndrome, and based on the information on that website, I'd say I have a textbook case. I've got a prescription for physical therapy, and Monday will make the calls to arrange for that.

Glad to hear that you now know what's going on and that it doesn't require surgery! Hopefully the PT will help

Well, the doctor didn't say it absolutely would never require surgery, just that he thought that PT would do it. But yes, it's very good to know what the heck is wrong with me.
