Foodieness

Tonight's dinner was a slightly enhanced version of this ham casserole. I added a little bit of basil, a bit of garlic powder, and probably doubled the amount of milk (I didn't measure any of these changes.)

I served it with a bottle of Apple Mystique wine from King Ferry Winery, which went with it very well.

I'm trying to think of ways to enhance the casserole even more. I came up with adding fresh mushrooms, and Tom thinks either corn or peas or both would work. Anyone else have any ideas?

My mom used to switch out the various cream soups--mushroom to chicken to asparagus. I think I liked the asparagus best, but then I always like asparagus best.

I did think of changing the cream'o to something else! I don't know why I didn't put that in the post...

Anyway, for some reason I'm thinking that cream'o'celery would work well. I don't think I've ever noticed cream'o'asparagus on the shelf, but now I'm going to have to look for it.

Mushrooms would be wonderful, and also either peas or corn. Carrots might also be nice

Carrots would probably taste very good.
