An Idea

Following up on some of the comments I've gotten in my last two posts, I've had an idea for a new community here on LJ.

Would any of you be interested in a community for discussing fashion and appearence from the point of view of grownups who are trying to stand out from the crowd. A community for grownups who are still figuring out what the rules are, and which ones they want to follow and which ones they want to ignore.

As I don't know anyone there in person, I can't see f-locked posts. They're primarily British. But, I like that they focus on feeling and looking good, and, on NOT necessarily sticking to any "standards" of beauty and fashion. And they'll organize local clothing swaps and themed outings.

Any ideas for names? So far I've come up with standing_out or not_blending_in, but even if they work with LJ's rules, I'm not sure that they're available.

Hmmm ... try these on:

my_own_style
got_the_look
me_style
different_drum
style_not_fashion (I'm trying to find the originator of the quote "Fashion is for people who don't have style." Seems to be several people. Certainly a LOT of people have grasped the concept.)

I can keep doing this all night. But I need to go home now. :)
