Sample Boxes?, Part 2

Following up on this post, I've narrowed it down to three boxes that seem like they'd be good choices.

1. The Little Black Box
2. BlissMoBox
3. My Dream Sample Box

I also decided that rather than try to arrange in advance to split a subscription, I'll just sell anything I don't want to friends who do. To make it fair, anything I sell will be at what it cost me or less if I opened it before realizing I didn't want it.

So (for example) if the box I decide on costs $15 a month, and has 10 items in it, I'd offer the things I didn't want for $1.50.

Does that seem fair? Has anyone else tried sample boxes? What did you think?

I can't say I've done something like this (though I had been pointed at a site where you can get thigh his, stockings, or mix and match delivered to you once a month for three months), but out of the options, I really like the second one. But I'm a foodie and I know I would at least try everything given to me. The others seem to mix and match that it would be a crap shoot, for me at least, that it would be things I would use.

It sounds like a good idea. I would see if they have a clause where you can just do it for a few months (like 3) just to try it out if you are uncertain. It sounds like canceling could be (though hopefully isn't) a pain if you realize it isn't what you are looking for.

Both the first and last ones are month-by-month services rather than subscriptions, which is one advantage they have. The first also has a quarterly plan, which is a little cheaper per month.

BlissMoBox only has the indefinite plan, which is the major strike against them, to my mind. But they offer bigger name brands, which is a point for them.

I figure I'll think about it until this weekend and pick one then, even if it's just by writing all three names down on slips of paper and choosing out of a hat.

That looks really intersting. sort of like getting a gift basket once a month, even if you are paying for it.

Exactly! I really like the idea of getting a small package of potentially interesting stuff every month.

I think that out of the three of them, the BlissMoBox has the most appeal as items that you could sell onward to other people. The Little Black Box seems like random Etsy shop owner promo items (bookmarks and magnets were listed), and I didn't get a very clear idea what was in the Dream Sample boxes.

The BlissMoBox is the one I'm leaning towards at the moment, although since the other two can be bought month by month I might give one of them a try too.
