Good Things 3

Today I:

Did laundry.

Had lunch & ran errands with Tom. We bought a little portable boombox for the office, as well as a few other odds & ends.

Had dinner out at Shalimar's with Tom and some friends. We ran into another group of friends/acquaintances while we were there.

Finished the Witching Hour family tree, and started one for the real world. My first source book is The First American by H.W. Brands, a biography of Benjamin Franklin. So far the real world tree consists of about 4 generations of Ben Franklin's family and 2 or 3 generations each of the families of a few other prominent people with American connections. If I can figure out how, I'll make a website to show these off.

You know, the Witching Hour was one of my favorite Anne Rice books. Those first two of the witches are great. After that...

Yeah, Rice always seems to be her best in the first book of a series. After that it always feels like she's having trouble figuring out what story she wants to tell. I definitely like the witch series better than the vampire one. It's a much more original concept.
