(This) Tuesday is a Birthday!

Happy birthday to my brother KC! He has an LJ, but since he never uses it I won't link it here. *evil laugh* I'm not the only one in my thirties now!

Body: My right shoulder is killing me, and I've been getting some random stabs of knee pain.

Reading: Still In the Devil's Snare: The Salem Witchcraft Crisis of 1692, by Mary Beth Norton.

Hearing: I'm listening to The Roadhouse again. It's a wonderful music podcast with a focus on independent and small label blues artists. The show's tag line is "The Finest Blues You've Never Heard."

Wearing: Today's perfume is Bliss, part of the Bewitching Brews line from BPAL. This is the description from the lab: A shot of pure, self-indulgent euphoria! A scent that is very, very wicked in its own way: the serotonin-slathered scent of pure milk chocolate. It's hot chocolate in a perfume oil!

Etsy find: Message in a Bottle pendant.

Tonight's Project: Finish the third of my late Swap-bot projects, hopefully get to the post office and mail all three of them.

Project Follow-up: I got two of the three Swap-bot projects done, and figured out what I'm doing for the third!

Randomness: Anybody have a risotto recipe they especially like? I made it for the first time the other day, and liked the super basic version on the back of the rice bag enough that I want to try more complex versions.

Parboil mushrooms before sauteing them. Use the broth for the risotto liquid. When you saute the mushrooms, do so with some onions. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, black pepper, and salt to taste. When the risotto is done, add the mushrooms. This goes nicely with a big strong red wine.

(The mushrooms are medieval; putting them in risotto is my own idea.)
