jennythereader: (Me 002 *)
My appointment with the knee doctor went fairly well. They tied my legs in knots in order to take some X-rays, which hurt a little bit, but after the doctor looked at them he had good news for me.

It turns out that the reason my knees hurt is connected to the way my hips & pelvis developed during adolescence. There's a term for it, but I don't remember it and the paperwork is out in my car. He thinks that physical therapy will help me, and that surgery won't be needed.

Edit 6:22 pm OK. It's called patellofemoral syndrome, and based on the information on that website, I'd say I have a textbook case. I've got a prescription for physical therapy, and Monday will make the calls to arrange for that.
