Tuesday [is on hiatus]
Dec. 1st, 2009 12:47 pmBody: Pretty good. My scar itches and my left ear feels all clogged up, but as problems go those are pretty minor. Also, I'm freezing. It's like they don't bother to heat this office.
Reading: Still The Vizier of the Two-Horned Alexander, a odd story by the man who wrote "The Lady and the Tiger"
Hearing: The Roadhouse, an amazing blues podcast with a focus on independent and small label performers. The show's tag line is "The Finest Blues You've Never Heard."
Wearing: Today's perfume is Pomona, one of this year's fall limited editions from BPAL. This is the description from the lab: The Roman festival for Pomona, Goddess of fruit, orchards, and gardens, was celebrated on November 1. On this day, the stores amassed during summer were opened for winter. Azaroles, nuts, and apple blossoms with red apple pulp, mulberry, blackberry, and pomegranate juice. It's a sweet fruity scent, with a sharp undertone. It's no longer available from the company, so if you think it sounds good go poking through the sales/swaps sections of the BPAL forum. Someone is sure to be selling theirs.
Etsy find: More pretty earrings.
Tonight's Project: Another attempt on those few small projects for Swap-bot that I didn't get to last night.
Project Follow-up: I got the dishes done, but didn't even touch any of my Swap-bot projects.
Randomness: I give up on giving specifically Christmas/birthday gifts. I can never find things that I'm sure people will like in time, and I refuse to give a gift that I'm not sure of just because I'm expected to give something. Instead, I'll be giving random "just because" gifts whenever I find something that's perfect and I can afford. This also holds for giving people things that I make. If inspiration strikes and I find or think of the perfect gift when it's less than a month to $RANDOM-GIFT-OCCASION I'll hold onto it until then, but other than that people I love will be getting things randomly throughout the year. (Edit, 12-2-09 7:15pm I added the word "specifically" to the first sentence, the phrase "in time" to the second sentence, and the word "randomly" to the last sentence. I hope it makes my thoughts clearer.)
