This has been my day so far:

7:00 - What is that horrible noise? Why can't I move? Oh. The noise is my alarm clock, and I can't move because there's a cat on one side of me and a Tom on the other side of me. Shove the cat away, make the noise stop, fall back into bed.

8:10 - Out the door, later than I meant to, but not late. Dammit! My right front tire is not just the little bit soft/low that I was expecting, but completely flat. I figure the gas station with a pump is only about 6 blocks away, I can baby it that far.

8:20 - The 3 minutes of air the pump gives me makes no difference whatsoever. I go to call my boss and tell him I'll be late due to a flat tire, and discover that I never copied his number from the old phone to my new one. I send an email to what I think is his address, but I'm not sure. I limp over to the tire place, which is another 4-5 blocks from the gas station.

8:30 - The tire guy tells me I need both front tires replaced, I should get the back tires replaced, and I need an alignment. I opt for just the alignment and front tires. The back ones aren't as bad and can wait until my inspection next month. They tell me it will take about an hour an a half and cost about $250. I haven't budgeted for this, but I can't really do without it, so... I attempt to email my boss again, to give him an estimate for when I'll be in.

8:45 - I walk over to McDonald's to get something to eat while they're working on the car. I slip on some ice and fall smack on my butt. I nearly start crying. I email with a friend while I'm eating, and he has the bright idea that I find out the number for the front desk at work and get in touch with my boss that way. I leave a voice-mail.

9:45 - They're done with my car and I head to work, a little earlier than expected.

10:15 - I'm at my desk and on the clock, a little over an hour late. I was wrong about my boss's email, so it's a good thing I managed to leave a message. I'll stay half an hour late tonight, and make up the rest of the time in bits throughout the week.

12:00 - I got my boss's direct phone number programmed into my phone, so I won't be in this sort of bind again. Took my first break of the day. Wrote this post.

12:15 - Break over, back to work. Hopefully this morning used up all of my bad luck for the week.
