Good things:
  • The work is very easy, with a mix of standing and sitting that my knees actually like.
  • My co-workers all seem very nice.
  • I got a compliment on my shirt, a bright pink linen blouse that was given to me (I forget by who.)
  • Fridays and Mondays are both casual days, when we are allowed to wear jeans and sneakers.

Neutral things:
  • The work is very dull and repetitive.
  • Technically I'm not supposed to park in the employee lot, as I am not an employee of Eddy VNA. They told me how to get around it.

Bad things:
  • They only sell Pepsi in the machines, and didn't even have any of the flavored varieties, so I'm drinking my first caffeine of the day as I type this.
  • The only place close enough to go to for lunch is a overpriced deli on the first floor of the office building. They have an extremely limited menu, and also only serve Pepsi.
  • My professional-looking shoes are not well suited to standing for several hours while I file. My feet were killing me by the end of the day.

Things I'm going to do differently tomorrow:
  • I'm going to take my own soda.
  • I'm going to bring my lunch.
  • I'm getting insoles to put in my shoes.

Congrats on the job! My husband takes his own drinks and lunch 90 percent of the time. Sometimes he supplements with some soup from the cafeteria or something like that. But it's cheaper, better for you, and you get the things you want. Goo

I usually take TV dinners, so I don't know that it will be much cheaper or healthier, but every little bit does help.

Congrats on the job!!! That is great!! I always send Howie with leftovers for lunch, works out well and much cheaper!! As to your previous comment about the temp agency. Most of them are aware that their clients with register with multiple companies and are fine with it. People need to work and make a living and they understand that. Some even suggest you do that. I know Mom always told her Health Aides to register with a few companies because she may not always have enough work for them. ~S

I'm going to take leftovers when we have them, but we don't really cook as much as we should so we don't have them very often. TV dinners are a good compromise.
