First Day At The New Job

It went fairly well. I impressed the trainer by picking up how to do the one form they taught me today more quickly than they expected. In fact, they had me working on my own by lunchtime. Today they only taught me how to do one of the (random large number) of forms that we have to transfer into the computer. Apparently their training policy is to focus on one thing and make sure you have a good grasp of it before they move on to the next.

Sometime in the next few days I'll be getting a desk of my own, most likely by Monday. Until then, I'll continue to use ones belonging to people taking their monthly weekday off.

Congratulations on the job, Jenny. I do hope this one works out for you. I'm glad you had a good first day. You'll get used to the hours - just have to force yourself to go to bed earlier!(Turn off the computer!) It will take a little while, but it will be worth it in the long run. I used to hate getting up so early, but now I actually like it. It's so quiet & peaceful & cool in the early mornings. It's nice to start the day out that way. Try to look on the bright side of that, and enjoy the change. If it gets rough, remember what my hubby always said to me when I was complaining about work. "Yep, WORK is a four-letter word, but, that's why they call it work, and that's why they pay you to do it!"
(I always thought "OUCH! Okay, okay, I know, I'm going....")

Where is the new job?

I think this one is going to work out. The tasks are interesting & diverse enough to keep me alert, without being so varied that I can't keep track of which is which (so far.)

As for the hours, I figure by the end of next week I'll have adjusted. The fact that it's the same hours every day is a big help in that.

It's a company called ACS, located on New Karner road. I'm entering data from various forms connected with child support payments.
