Thinky Thoughts About Religion

This song actually does a really good job summing up a large part of the reason I don't call myself a Christian.
The lyrics.
I do believe in Jesus's message about how we should treat people. I just do a rotten job of living up to those ideals most of the time. While I do help my friends whenever I can, I don't volunteer or donate money to charity or do much of anything else to help people I don't know.
On a side note, I think there are a lot of people who do call themselves Christians who should be forced to listen to this song on infinite repeat until it sinks in.
Edited to add: The other major reason I don't call myself Christian is because I'm opposed to the idea of organized churches and religious authority. I think it's each person's responsibility to figure out for themselves what they believe, not to take any one else's word as the absolute unquestioned truth.
