Once Upon A Time

I actually used to write. Over the years I somehow got out of the habit.

My challenge to myself this month is to write something again. The method I'll be doing takes advantage of my tendency to tinker with what I've already written, instead of writing more. Today I'll write a sentence or two. Tomorrow I'll expand it. The day after that I'll expand it again. Repeat until the end of the month.

The one thing I can't decide is if I should post it while it's in progress or wait until it's done.

I go through periods where I just cannot stop writing, and then -- nothing for a year or more. I tried to chart this one time to see if I could figure out some kind of pattern to it. The conclusion I came to was that during times in my life when I'm having personal drama, I don't write. Conflict and emotional fallout drain my creative energy until there's nothing left.
