2 hours or $20 dollars:

Over the last two years we've had ample proof that Americans will work incredibly hard and put an amazing amount of energy into a cause. Now that the election is over, should we really let all that passion dissipate?

Of course not.

I challenge everyone reading this to, by the end of the month, donate either 2 hours of your time or $20.00 of your money to a cause that you believe in.

I'll be making my donation to Literacy New York.

If you decide to participate please copy this into your own blog, changing my charity to your own choice.

I think that both time and money are needed by many organizations and that an individual needs to decide for him/herself which one to GIVE based not only on what is needed by the recipient of the gift but also on what that individual has available to give at that particular moment. It is important to remember that when you donate your money you are, indirectly, donating your time because you had to work to get that money in the first place and so you have effectively donated your time! Just thought that I'd throw my two cents in there!

PS - Of course, donating items is valuable as well as it helps the giver, the recipient, and the environment!
