Plea For Help

Would anyone out there in internet-land be interested in giving me a hand with my Etsy shop? I need someone to take pictures of my merchandise. I'm just... not very good at taking close-up pictures of relatively small things, and I don't enjoy that part of the Etsy process very much.

I will pay you for your time and effort, with either a flat fee or a percentage of my sale price. We can figure out the exact details later.

Local would be best, but I'm willing to define "local" pretty broadly.

For example, it's three hours from where I am to where you are (if the info in your profile is current). I'd be willing to make a drive like that every couple of months, especially if it also included hanging out with friends.

The info in my profile is current for the time being. There's some talk around here about moving down south, but that is far from definite at this point, and perhaps we could work something out if that happens.

So question, do you need me to do any of the mailing of items for you, or just photos? I don't mind necessarily, I just didn't think to check.

Oh and I never thought to check, but I'm assuming you just need digital photos that can be uploaded easily?

As for compensation, I'm not sure what to say because very frankly, I feel like you're the one who this is the most hassle for. I mean you have to drive 3 hours and drop off the stuff and all.

(I know, I'm a lousy business person. LOL)

Anyway, let me know what you think is fair in terms of your travel costs etc and maybe a little more of exactly what you're thinking you want someone to do.

I've got about 15 items that need pictures, and will need 5-6 pictures of each of them.

How long do you think it would take to do that many? (75-90 pictures total.) I can do any necessary cropping and re-sizing myself, really I just need someone who is better than me at lighting and camera angles and things like that.

Hmm.... I'm not sure exactly how long that would take... I would guess several hours. There's setting up each item, getting the lighting right, making sure the picture is right, etc.

I could always do a few, send them to you, see what you think and kind of go from there.

Does any of this make sense or sound reasonable? I've never done this before so I'm guessing purely.

Do you think you could do a couple of sample pictures of some random thing from your house? (A book, a mug, anything else that's fairly small and simple.) That would give me an idea of what sort of pictures you'd take of my stuff.

well, I can't guarantee anything on the permanent basis but I do have a small table top photo studio ment for taking photos of small items and a decent camera do it with. So if you are interested in using this and my help i'll be willing to volunteer. althought due to kids you would have to do the commuting.

What I want to do is hire somebody to take the pictures for me, not help taking with the pictures myself. If you're interested in that we can figure out when and how much I'd pay you.

Just wanted to let you know I have not forgotten about you. With everything that has gone on the last couple of weeks here, I simply haven't had a chance to take those sample photos.

I will TRY to get it done this weekend.
