Perfect!

No kidding, my dad sees someone reading a book and he thinks, Oh, look! That person is lonely, I better go talk to her!

That must get old real quick.

I'm fairly lucky in that both of my parents are also introverts.

Made me smile!

The only change I'd make is to call it the "extroverted sensing" and "introverted intuitive" lexicon ;)

My dad's an introvert but he's much more likely to be working in his shed/yard on a project than reading a book (ISTJ) and my sister's far more likely to be reading a book than to be out with friends (ENFP)

It's not perfect, but it describes me fairly well.

I think it's right on the money for INXX (as an INFJ, this applies to me too :) )

Sounds about right, especially "internet."

I remember, one afternoon, pulling out a book during a car ride with my (extroverted) stepmother, and being asked, "Why do you DO that?"

It took me a moment to figure out what she meant, before we got into a profitable discussion on exactly why I DO do that, and an agreement that when it was just we two in the car, I wouldn't.

Yeah... the boxes... they don't fit. Which would explain why I love getting lost on books, and also love having people around me. I spend more time trying to satisfy the extroversion... because when I want quiet and a book, I can stay home pretty easily. When I want company... I have to find other people who also feel like being social, and it needs to be the right people.

I think [livejournal.com profile] sioneva might be right when she says it applies to IN--s, but not necessarily to IS--s.
