Wine Trail in October?

Tom and I had so much fun doing the wine tour in northern Michigan that we've decided we want to do something similar here in New York. The Shawangunk Wine Trail seems like a good choice. I'm thinking on October 24th.

Any one else interested in coming?

I'm sure purpura and I would love to do that, and it is very local, but the 24th is very, very booked with Charlie's birthday party and then a clan party that night. Sunday the 25th looks open though, and we'd even be Charlie-free! The Saturday before, October 17th, might also be free, though we might be doing event prep for an event in the area Sunday the 18th.

I suggested the 24th mostly because it's closest to my birthday. If the 17th works better for more people, it works fine for me too.

Sweetie, we have all 4 of the kids on the 17th. Sunday the 25th works better for all of us down here.

Sundays work best for Matt as he doesn't have to go to sleep early that night and Charlie is with the other kids in the morning.

I was thinking Saturday because I thought that the wineries had better hours than on Sunday. I just looked at the actual hours, and it turns out Sunday works just as well for almost all of them.

That should still be fine -- unless work decides to throw me a curve ball and make me work extra hours that weekend (since we'll be launching a new newsroom computer system two days later). But at this point, still looks good. :)

Cool. I'll do an actual planning post some time in the next few days, where we can figure out things like exactly where and when we're meeting.

Cool. Like I said to nounsandverbs, I'm going to do an actual planning post in the next couple of days so that meeting times and places can be figured out, along with carpool plans if needed.

24th and 25th both work OK for me, assuming Jaime doesn't want to do something private and couple-y, since his birthday is the day after yours.

I don't know how much he'd be into the wine, but the friends and a hike? Sounds like something he'd do.

Um... It's not so much a hike. What you do is drive from winery to winery, trying a few samples at each one.

Also, like I said in the other post, I've changed my mind about the date and am now thinking of doing this on the 10th.
