Reading: The Vizier of the Two-Horned Alexander, a odd story by the man who wrote "The Lady and the Tiger"

Book Review: I finished Spiritwalk, by Charles De Lint last night. It was pretty good, but I think I would have appreciated it more if I'd read Moonheart, the earlier book about the same group of characters. It's not exactly a sequel, but I could tell that my understanding of the backstory would have been better with the earlier book.

Hearing: Random music today. I didn't really feel like hearing anything I'd have to think about.

Etsy find: SteamedGlass - He makes really cool moss terrariums, mostly out of old lightbulbs. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] shadesong for pointing him out to me and all of her other readers.

Tonight's Project: A few small projects for Swap-bot. Also, dishes.

Project Follow-up: I did spend large chunks of the weekend playing Sims 3. It has some things I like better than Sims 2, and the stuff I like less I suspect is just because I'm not used to it yet.

I'm currently rereading Spiritwalk.

My last reread was long enough ago that I don't remember much of the story. I think it does ~stand-alone~ well enough, but having read Moonheart first probably is helpful.

I ~like~ de Lint.

The plot of Spiritwalk is pretty stand alone, but I can't help but think that the characterizations would have worked better for me if I'd read the earlier book.
