Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

We were just talking about the Book the Five Love Languages in my La Leche League. Too funny! ~Sara

I don't think I'd ever heard of it before I saw this quiz. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for the book, it sounds kind of interesting.

Our discussion centered around finding time for baby and Dad. One of the ladies mentioned this book and made the point that identifying each other's love languages will help us to show our husbands that we love them easier and help our husbands show us and help us identify ways we do show it already that the other may not recognize. For example the wife cooking and cleaning and taking care of the baby all day are ways she shows her love but the husband may need physical touch or quality time to feel loved. If they don't know this about each other it leads to hurt feelings. It was interesting and a good realization to make. I have not read the book yet either it is somewhere on the never ending book list ;)
