Thursday is Literacy Day

jennythereaderBody: I'm well slept. The price of that was being three hours late to work, but at least I'm not as tired as usual.
Reading: I started re-reading Game of Thrones, by George R.R. Martin. The first book in one of the best fantasy series ever written.
Book Review: I finished reading Earthweb last night. The author set up an interesting situation, with Earth having to fight off an potentially world destroying attack from mysterious aliens every 5 years. This has lead to all sorts of interesting changes in society and culture. The problem was that that was just about the only thing he did right. The characters were wooden, the plot was simplistic, and the writing as a whole was clumsy. One thing I think he did very well was theorize how the Web would evolve. Overall 6 out of 10, and 2 of those points are because I like the premise so much.

Project Follow-up: We went out to see Avatar. One sentence review: Pretty but unoriginal.
