I just don't get it

I'm listening to a Bjork concert that I downloaded from NPR (part of the All Songs Considered series), and after 15 minutes I realize something.

I do not understand why she is so popular. She doesn't have a particularly pretty voice, nor is it not-pretty in an interesting way. I usually can't understand the words, so the lyrics don't grab me. And, her choices in instrumentation make my head hurt.

I think I gave this concert a fair trial (almost 20 minutes), but I'm not going to bother with the rest of it.

Side note to self: Get/make a more general music icon.
