jennythereader: (* Chocolate Ice Cream *)
Over the last few years I've gotten in the habit of bringing a big box of candy down to the Harmony Drive New Year's Eve party.

I've been buying from Krause's, but this year I'm considering The Chocolate Gecko.

So I have a couple of questions for the people who will be hosting/attending the party and actually eating the candy: Do you have a preference for where I buy it? Are there any types of candy you'd especially like me to get? I know that [livejournal.com profile] purpura like chocolate covered ginger, [livejournal.com profile] nounsandverbs likes peanut butter cups, and everybody likes fruit slices. Any other favorites I should make a point of getting?

When the Children Read Fantasy - Terry Pratchett

A really great essay about the benefits of reading fantasy.

Here's to fantasy as the proper diet for the growing soul. All human life is there -- a moral code, a sense of order and, sometimes, great big green things with teeth. There are other books to read and I hope children who start with fantasy go on to read them. I did. But everyone has to start somewhere.
