I had my first session with the trainer at the gym today. I think it went pretty well. He gave me a list of which machines to use and what to do on each one. I double checked, and I do get one training session a month, which I think will do a lot to keep me motivated.
Today worked out to roughly a half-session: 5 minutes on the treadmill to start, 1 set of 10 reps on each of 6 machines (under the supervision of the trainer), and then 10 more minutes on the treadmill.
My plan is to go every other day, and to basically double what I did today. So I'll start with 10 minutes on the treadmill, then do 2 sets on each machine, and finish with 20-30 minutes back on the treadmill.
Right now I'm at 214 pounds. My short-term goal is to be under 200. Long term, I'd like to be under 175. Maybe even 150.
