My home computer seems to think that Gmail doesn't exist. I try to go to the site, and I get a 404 not found error. I've tried both Firefox and Opera, and I'll try Explorer when I get home from work. Google's other sites/tools seem to work just fine that don't require logging in seem to work, but it won't even let me try the ones that do. I need to try at work and see if it's my computer or my account that's broken.

Perhaps check your hosts file... Make sure there's nothing in there?

You realize I have no clue what that means, right?

Computers use something called a hosts file before attempting to ask the internet where a website is. Sometimes virii or other malicious software will try to add an entry to this file to make it so you can't get to legitimate sites, or you go to their own site and they can get you to think they are the legitimate one. (Gmail for instance would give them a user name and login. They would set up a server that looked like the gmail site, and hope you would put them in.)

Depending on what OS you are running I could give you directions on how to find and look inside your hosts file, to see if anything has changed it.

If it hasn't fixed itself by the time I get home I may take you up on it. Thanks.
