They never even started selecting jurors. Around 11:00 the judge came in to the room where all of us were waiting and said that things had been resolved without a trial. The defendant had plead guilty, and we were all free to go. It would have been kind of interesting to serve on a criminal jury, but it also would have been a hassle, so overall I'm glad I wasn't needed.

I came back home to get lunch and pick stuff up and drop stuff off, and now I'm heading into work for the afternoon.

That's the way it often works. A last minute plea deal is accepted rather than face the possibility of a trial not going the way you expect.
