Writer's Block: Too mainstream

I don't know. It's never happened to me. Every group I've ever loved has been one of three situations: 1) They had their heyday decades before I ever heard them; 2) They started obscure and (have so far) stayed obscure; or 3) (most rarely) I first heard them around the time they first became widely popular.

I think nounsandverbs answered this question pretty well.


Edit: I re-phrased point 3 to make it more clearly different from point 1.

It can be fun. The looks on people's faces when you tell them "I've never heard of 'random popular group.'"
