Vox, an experiment

As a way to experiment with Vox (a new blogging site), I've started an account and am using it to review music and books. The link is Jennythereader if you want to look at it directly, or if you want to see my reviews here on LJ you can subscribe to the feed: jennythereader.

So far it's just a couple of quick "work music" reviews, but I'll be doing a detailed review of the next book I finish.

There is a good chance that once I'm comfortable with the Vox format I'll be moving this journal over there, so anyone here on LJ who is interested will probably want to get the feed at some point.

So far I've been less than impressed with Vox. It seems to have every feature that I don't like from places like Myspace, and doesn't have the things iI do like from LJ.

The whole comment thing sucks there. If you reply to a comment made in your journal it doesn't notify the person that you've responded so unless they go back and check your journals comments...

I was just thinking that it seems to have been modeled a little to closely on MySpace. Ironic when you think that Six Apart is promoting it as a blogging site for grownups.

I thought the same thing. I know very few adults that are that prefer Myspace to LJ. Or want to be able to play music or video on their journals.
