I meant to post this several weeks ago, but I kept forgetting.
Ingredients
1 onion, chopped
2-4 cloves garlic, to taste, minced
1 cup raw brown rice, washed
1 cup raw dried lentils, washed & picked over
1 bay leaf
4 cups water
Salt to taste
Tamari (Soy sauce) to taste
Directions
Place all the ingredients but the tamari in a 2-quart saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover, and cook 40 minutes. Uncover and cook another 15 minutes, or until the liquid has evaporated. Season with tamari.
Notes
I tend to use all 4 cloves of garlic when I'm making this for myself. The version that I took to the Christmas gathering only used 2 cloves.
