Birka Report, expanded from my last entry

Got home several hours ago. I've been catching up on LJ and went out to dinner with the fiance and some friends.
Birka was fun but kind of frustrating. I forgot my workbasket and so didn't have any projects to work on or show off, and all 5 of us who were rooming together managed to injure ourselves at some point.
sunatrya was the worst, she tripped and sprained/strained her ankle and wrist. Tom got his head rung like a bell (literally, his right ear was ringing for several hours), and the rest of us all banged our heads at various times.
I didn't get as much shopping done for myself as I wanted, but that was mostly because I didn't see much that was useful/fun and in my price range. Tom got a book of medieval Russian decoration, some thin leather, and a CD; I picked up some silk embroidery thread and a extra pair of small scissors.
I got some reading done Sunday night (I'm currently reading Drawing Down The Moon, the revised edition from 1986.) It's good and is making me think about my beliefs, but I can't help but wonder if there is a later edition available.
We had dinner Saturday night at the wonderful Indian place, swam in the hotel pool, boiled ourselves in the hot tub, and in general had fun.
