A Good Afternoon/Evening
Oct. 21st, 2006 08:19 pmTom and I went for a very nice drive today. We took my car and did a meandering sort of journey through the countryside. Very pretty leaves, and a nice time. When we got back into town I was craving seafood, so we attempted to go to Red Lobster for dinner. I'm very happy to say that the parking lot was so full that we gave up without even going in. Instead, we went up a couple of blocks to The Real Seafood Co.
It was amazing. For an appetizer we had some of the best Stuffed Mushrooms I've ever had, along with salad, wonderful rolls, and coleslaw. My Potato Crumb Cod was wonderful, and Tom's Grilled Block Island Swordfish was also very good. We both agreed though, that the highlight of the meal was the Herb Roasted Potatoes that we both got as a side dish. I really don't have the "foodie" vocabulary to explain how good they were.
We were full enough that we skipped dessert, but they have several that sound good.
It was a little more expensive than Red Lobster would have been, but not overpriced. The food was worth what they charged for it. Tom decided that next time we go we should dress a little nicer. Neither of us felt uncomfortable in our jeans & t-shirts, but this is a place worth dressing up for.
