I think my body hates me
Apr. 6th, 2007 06:32 pmI just got more evidence for my theory that my knees are just the first of my joints to show the signs of a more widespread problem.
I was walking home from Rite Aid after getting a prescription filled, when my left ankle revolted. Just as I put my foot down there was an instant of blinding pain, and then the sensation of my limb not wanting to hold me up. I forced myself to keep going (I was in the middle of the street, and there were cars coming), and by the time I got to the other side of the street the pain had subsided from blinding to lots. At this point it just aches, as if I had hurt it a couple of days ago.
Once I was safely out of traffic I stopped and looked back at the cross walk. There was nothing there that could have made me stumble. No ice or oil patch I could have slipped on, no raised spot I could have tripped over, no depressed spot my foot could have stuck in. Nothing. My ankle just decided it didn't want to work for a moment.
I really need to see a doctor about my joints. Anyone have any names they recommend?
