Ender is a adorable, affectionate cat, but sometimes I don't think he's very bright.

Every time he jumps on my or Tom's desk, I spray him with water. This has been going on for months. You would think that he would have grasped the connection between being on a desk and being soaking wet by now.

On the other hand, Tom just pointed out that his water dish was empty, so it could be a sneaky way to get something to drink.

One morning I was sleeping on the couch and my cat kept scratching the chair on the other side of the room. I threw 7 books at her (yes, I realize I seriously need to put books away when I finish them) and she didn't stop.

Apparently cats in general aren't that bright when it comes to this kind of thing....I have threatened to pull her claws out myself if she doesn't stop destroying the new furniture though.

Casey was a water cat too.. .the water bottle didn't bother him at all. You may want to try something else to make the space unappealing. Aluminum foil has a displeasing feel on the paws and teatree oil will almost make them gag.

I don't think that aluminum foil would work here, since I'd have to cover most of my desk and most of Tom's as well. How does tea tree oil smell to humans?

As a clan, the Children of Neko are more likely to be fascinated by water than bothered by it. They tend to watch the water going down the toilet or the drain, or observe or even try to "help" with showers.

He might be jumping up there specifically to GET squirted!

He is fascinated by the shower & toilet, but so is Skif, and Skif has learned to not do things that get him sprayed.

He's not really hurting anything (usually), but sometimes he does knock things off or try to walk on the keyboards as we're typing, and that gets annoying.
