I just made the appointment for my first session of physical therapy. It's at 7:00 am (ungodly hour) on Thursday morning, and while I'm not looking forward to getting up for it, I am looking forward to starting work on my knees. Hopefully this will work and I'll stop being in pain.

I've been to physical therapy several times since I was 14. Its annoying, tiring (more emotionally than physically), and time consuming.

Its worth it.

I wish you luck. Just stick with it and in a month or two you should see results. If they give you "homework," make sure that you do it. Otherwise, you're just wasting everyone's time and your money.

You probably knew much of that already, but I thought that I'd share just in case.

The doctor wants me to do 2-3 appointments a week for 4 weeks, so I'm expecting to start feeling a difference fairly quickly. I have to remember to schedule around Tom & my vacation.

It'll hurt, and it might be hard to get the motivation together to keep going.. but I know from experience, that it's worth it.

I hope it will work & be worth it. I'm really tired of hurting.

I feel for you re the knee pain. My own knees are rife with arthritis and no one's even suggested physical therapy for a while. Not sure at this point whether it would even help.

Still it sounds like your ondition can be dealt with and as your other friend said make sure they give you homework.

I was really afraid that the doctor would tell me that I had arthritis. I know that there's not much you can do for that after a certain point.
