Shopping Grrs

jennythereaderI attempted to go shopping for a new shirt or two yesterday, but had no luck at all.
One of the few I found that was even worth trying on was this shirt, from NY & Co. I tried the "Blue Laughter Heather" (stupid color name), but wore it more like the model did the other colors. I really liked how the neckline looked, and how it fit on my torso. It's made from a very thin and soft fabric that's clingy, without being tight. The only reason I didn't buy it was the length. Tunic length in soft thin clingy fabric does not work for somebody with hips and a butt like mine. When I pulled it to its full length and stood still it hit at and exaggerated the widest part of my body, and when I moved it rode up and just looked sloppy rather than nicely drapey.
I want something that has sort of a "grown-up hippy" look for a Joan Baez concert I'm going to in a couple of weeks, and it would be nice if it were something I could also wear to work.
I'm going to try to get up to Saratoga this weekend and look around up there.
