At the moment I'm on 4 general purpose networks - Twitter, Facebook, LJ, and Google+. I also participate in a few special interest networks and some forums, but we're not talking about them today.
So this is how I use them:
- Twitter: I read it occasionally, but almost never remember to post anything there. I might actually delete the account sometime soon.
- Facebook: Quick updates about what I'm up to, and links to interesting things I've found online. Mostly things that I think will interest my family and not so geeky friends and acquaintances.
- Google Plus: More or less the same type of thing as Facebook, but with a more geeky slant.
- LJ: Anything that I can't say all I want to on the topic in a sentence or two. I cross-post it to Facebook and/or Google+ as seems appropriate.
If anybody wants a Google+ invite, let me know. (I'll delete this sentence when mine are all gone.)
