Things to Learn

Over on Facebook and Google+, I've recently been asking people what skills they want to learn for no particular practical reason, but just because it sounds like fun.

Here's my list, broken up into different catagories:

Stuff I know the basics of, but want to get better:
- knitting (I need lots more practice reading patterns)
- tablet weaving (I took one class, but I need more practice)
- collage making
- bread baking
- freehand embroidery (I know lots of stitches, but not really when to use them to best effect)
- pickling food

Stuff I know pretty much nothing about:
- dying fiber and/or fabric
- crochet
- fruit, vegetable & herb gardening
- singing and reading music
- tatting
- real cooking on a open fire
- making jelly & jam
- crazy quilting
- soap making

... and there are lots of other things that I'm interested in for a little while and then forget about.
