What I've decided to get is a bob to about an inch past my ears. I might ask the stylist to angle it a bit, so that it's shorter at the back of my head than at the sides.

I'm still waffling on the color half of the decision. I'll probably make my mind up about that after talking to the stylist.

That's part of why I'm waffling. I hate high maintenance looks, especially high maintenance hair. If it takes a hour at the salon every 6 weeks to keep things looking good thats OK, but much more than that will drive me batty.

So go the temp route--it'll wash out in 2 weeks. That's what Tasha does.

Jenny, I color my hair and it takes 1 1/2 hours at the salon every 4 to 5 weeks and it costs me over $100.00 each time so cost is a consideration too. I color mine to cover grey. My advice would be not to color it if you don't have to. It's a huge investment of both time and money. If it hadn't have been for my (very) premature grey I wouldn't have started coloring my hair at all. There. That's my 2 cents! :) Love, Christa

Thanks Christa,

That's a little more in the way of time and cost than I'm willing to do. When I go in to get it cut today I'll ask the stylist about highlights, but if maintaining them is anything like the same investment than I think I'll just pass on changing the color of my hair.
