What's the best book you've read this month?

The best I've read was Gone Away World by Nick Harkaway. It's surreal science fiction about the devastating aftermath of a war in which horrible weapons were used. The characters are wonderful and the author throws in some really cool and unexpected twists.

You know I've been shouting this book from the rooftops. Her "Orphan's Tales" series is really good too.

Also started on "Never Mind the Pollacks" -- about as far from the other book as you can get, a rock 'n' roll satire. Very funny and quick, breezy reading.

Palimpsest is on my wishlist over at Amazon, so I'm sure I'll get to it at some point.

The library has Orphan's Tales, but I can't quite make my mind up about them. I keep hearing good things, but it hasn't grabbed me.

That last one sounds funny. Good brain candy.

Yeah, it's a good palate-cleanser after "Palimpsest."
