Movie Night!
May. 17th, 2009 01:17 amTom & I are just back from a double feature at the Malta Drive-In.
Star Trek was just as good as everybody keeps saying. A great way to take the world in a different direction, without denying the TV shows or other movies. The only change I would have made would have been to let Lt. Uhura have more impact on the actual plot.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was also good, but not quite as good. The big problem I had was with how they chose to use Gambit. He seemed like a very different sort of character than he was in the cartoon (which was my first exposure to the X-Men universe.)
Over all it was a good night.

Date: 2009-05-17 05:02 pm (UTC)Those two movies make a lovely double feature. I had only one real issue, but to name it would be spoilery, and they may have done it on purpose to prevent people from attempting to do in real life what supposedly happened in that scene, the way they used to modify MacGyver's undertakings, so I can live with it.
