So in an attempt to get back to the point where my alarm clock actually works to get me out of bed in the morning, I'm trying a couple of new things.

1) No more sleeping in. Even on weekends, where I don't have to be anywhere at any particular time, I'm leaving my alarm on and getting up when it rings.

2) No more snooze button. Even if I have the time for that extra 9 minutes, I'm not hitting snooze that first time. I will let myself have the 15 minutes between the first alarm and the second though.

I'm going to do this even on days like today, when it means I got approximately 5 hours of sleep. I apologize in advance if I'm at all incoherent today.

In college I had a backup alarm clock -- across the room, so I had to get out of bed to turn it off. A very loud, wind-up one.

Mine is on the other side of the room. The problem is, it's a very small room, and I can get up and turn off the alarm without waking up enough to realize what I'm doing.
