jennythereader: (Strawberries *)

Going out for lunch every day has helped with the problem of my day being too long, but I feel bad about spending the money.

Today I tried something new: I had a granola bar for lunch, and spent the remaining 20 minutes of my break going for a walk. I think I'll stick with that, at least a few days a week, although I'm going to bring in fruit in addition to the granola bar.

JUST a granola bar is way too little, imho, unless you're also having regular snacks. While I won't get into the weight/weight-loss issue, if that's your goal, I can say that, regardless of said goal, a granola bar probably isn't going to cut it (even with a piece of fruit) for long-term lunches - it just isn't enough in the way of calories/nutrition to carry you through the day without snacks.

I also usually have juice of some sort during the day, and I have no problem doing more than one granola bar if I get hungry. Also, the piece of fruit is most likely to be an entire peach or apple.

Sounds like a lot of carbohydrate - you might want to consider adding protein into that mix.
