Science wakes up to people's increasing ability to manipulate their own dreams

I have wonder if it has anything to do with video games (ie: visual entertainment you have some control over) becoming more a part of day to day life. I guess you'd test that by finding out if people who play more video games have more lucid dreams.

I have them once in a while, and they usually end up being my more interesting and memorable dreams.

I've controlled mine since I got fed up with a recurring nightmare at about 5 years old.

I play some computer games, mostly on Facebook these days, but not what I'd consider video games. I've always had lucid dreams, though - similarly, I had *very* vivid and unpleasant nightmares when I was little and I learned how to recognize that I WAS dreaming and wake myself up quite effectively.

The nightmares have subsided, for the most part, but I manipulate my dreams more, although I don't always realize that every dream is a dream, if that makes sense.
