One Half Buddhist, One Half Christian, One Half Pagan

Today is the 25th anniversary of the Challenger explosion.

This remembrance from a teacher and this story from the brother of one of the astronauts who died both made me tear up on the way to work this morning.

We also just passed the anniversary of the Apollo 1 disaster, and are coming up on the anniversary of the Columbia disaster.

If you have an opportunity today, raise a glass (possibly one full of this stuff) in memory of all those who died trying to give us the universe. Let's not make their and their families' sacrifices in vain.

Science wakes up to people's increasing ability to manipulate their own dreams

I have wonder if it has anything to do with video games (ie: visual entertainment you have some control over) becoming more a part of day to day life. I guess you'd test that by finding out if people who play more video games have more lucid dreams.

I have them once in a while, and they usually end up being my more interesting and memorable dreams.

It's more like "There's evidence suggesting that it's possible life might exist on Titan," but it's still amazing news.

The doctor who first reported the possibility of a link between Autism and childhood immunizations apparently falsified at least some of his research.

Nature, the International Weekly Journal of Science endorses Barack Obama.

As far as anyone knows, this is the first time that the magazine has ever endorsed an American presidential candidate.

Apparently it is a possibility.
